Tips for owning a home bar, part two: 4 questions to help you choose the right style bar
Last time we talked about what you need to stock your bar. This time we’ll look at the actual, physical bar – how to get it to match your personality, your crowd and your style of entertaining. Here are four questions to ask when choosing a bar for your home.
1. What type of parties do you host?
Are most people standing up, walking to and from the bar? Or are people sitting down and talking or watching a game? Do you just want to relax with a few friends and family?
Whatever type of traffic flow you predict, there’s a combination of bar and barstools that will be the right fit for you and your guests. Stop by our showroom and we’ll point out what the differences are.
2. How many people do you host?
Do you want six seats at the bar? Or do you only want two? If you expect a big crowd, maybe a horseshoe bar is best.
3. What type of people are you and your guests?
Football fanatics? Tennis players and golfers? College kids? Artists and musicians? We have bars with the personality to suit your crowd. The material, the colors, the sturdiness – all of these elements should be considered to make sure you have the bar that’s right for you.
4. What do you drink most often?
Is this a scotch bar or a martini bar? Do you want to have beer on tap? Do you need a sink, an ice machine and two fridges?
A bar’s style, storage racks, construction, and decorative touches make it ideally suited to a particular “favorite drink.” We’ll help you choose the right bar for whatever’s your preference.
