How to Choose Furniture That Is Built to Last

8/15/2012

Philadelphia Art Museum - Chairs and BenchesLast month I saw an exhibit of classic furniture at the Philadelphia Art Museum. It made me wonder whether hundreds of years ago, when those tables and chairs were crafted, if anyone could have guessed that they would end up in a museum. I think they could have – the quality of a piece of furniture is obvious as soon as it is made.

While museum-quality furniture is out of Dinette & Barstool Village’s price range, we make sure that everything you find here is built to last. We want the pieces of furniture you take home to become family heirlooms one day. In our showroom you’ll find furniture made of sturdy, long-lasting materials like cherry, oak and walnut. Best of all, you’ll find that our prices are great for such quality.

So while we don’t think our barstools and dining room tables will be in the Smithsonian in the year 2312 (but you never know!), they will give you years of service and enjoyment. If treated right, your new furniture will last for decades. (Look for an upcoming post on how to protect your furniture.)

Philadelphia Art Museum - Vintage Chair But choosing furniture with a design that has staying power is just as important as choosing quality materials. When you take home a new recliner or bedroom set, you shouldn’t have to worry about it going out of fashion. It should make a smooth transition from contemporary to vintage, or from classy to classic. Or else it should just be timeless, holding its appeal no matter how the fashions change. If you want your furniture to be around for a long time, we will help you choose tasteful pieces that will always appear refined and elegant.

Visit our showroom and choose from over 350 barstools, counter stools and other furniture. Something will jump out at you as a future family heirloom! Just set your GPS for 224 Nazareth Pike (Route 191) in Bethlehem, PA — only one mile north of Route 22 in the heart of the Lehigh Valley. Click here for showroom hours and driving directions.

See you soon!
